The Quadruped DB Row

The DB Row works many muscles of your upper body…Mid/Lower Traps, Deltoids, Rhomboids, Lats and Biceps are among the main muscle groups being used. You also receive forearm and grip strength without even realizing it!

It’s usually performed unilaterally with 1-Arm (in various set ups), and adds a core component that resists rotation when the pulling motion occurs. Posterior Upper Body Strength is important in sports, especially in the overhead athlete, where grooving good scapular movement along the rib cage is imperative to shoulder health!

The Quadruped DB Row
In this kneeling (quadruped position), the ground will act as the end point. Your non-lifting arm will be on a fixed position, typically a plate or a medicine ball. We cue our athletes to keep the body as rigid as possible and pull the elbow towards the ribcage, with a slight trunk rotation to help scapular movement.
